15" Top Quality Amethyst Geode - 35 lbs

This is a top quality, double amethyst geode from the famous mines near Artigas, Uruguay. It's 15" tall and 9" wide, weighing 35 lbs. There are two pockets of dark purple, amethyst crystals on top of each other. A stunning display piece.

We import directly from the mines in Artigas, Uruguay and the material is much higher quality than the more frequently seen amethyst from Brazil.

Though Brazil produces a greater volume of amethyst, the material from the Artigas region of Uruguay is renowned for its exceptional depth of color and superb crystal quality. Uruguayan amethyst typically forms in dense basalt flows and develops into richly saturated, grape-purple crystals that are considered some of the finest in the world.
