2.4" Tabular Golden Barite Cluster - Xiefang Mine, China
This is a cluster of lustrous, golden barite crystals collected from the Xiefang Mine in Jiangxi, China. Much of the time these barite crystals from this mine are associated with quartz crystals or are on a botryoidal fluorite matrix, however these large barite crystals have been removed from their matrix.

Barite is a barium sulfate mineral (BaSO₄) known for its high specific gravity, which makes it unusually heavy for a non-metallic mineral.
