This is a beautiful, polished stone skull made out of "yellow turquoise" jasper from China. This skull has been meticulously sculpted and polished into the shape of a realistic skull.

"Yellow turquoise" is a trade name for this unique type of jasper, which ranges in color from yellow to lime, with natural inclusions of dark gray magnetite. This trade name is rather deceptive, since the stone is not only not turquoise (the mineral) but is also not turquoise (the color). Nevertheless, it is a very interesting and attractive stone, particularly when polished.
