5.9" Wide, Glimmering Purple Amethyst Geode - Uruguay
This is a beautiful, 5.9" amethyst geode from the famous amethyst mines in Artigas, Uruguay. The crystals are an intense grape-jelly purple, and the edges and part of the outside have been polished to reveal the thick banded agate walls of the geode.
About Uruguay Amethyst
Though Brazil produces a greater volume of amethyst, the material from the Artigas region of Uruguay is renowned for its exceptional intensity of color and superb crystal quality. Uruguayan amethyst typically forms in dense basalt flows and develops into richly saturated, deep purple crystals that are considered some of the finest in the world.
