7" Quartz "Stalactite" Formation on Metal Stand - Uruguay

This is a beautiful quartz crystal "stalactite" formation from the famous mines near Artigas, Uruguay. It features many shimmering quartz crystals and comes with a metal stand that it sits in for display. The edges of the specimen and the ends of some of the stalactite formations have been polished to reveal the stunning deep mineral formations. There is some very faint purple coloration to these crystals, however not quite enough to comfortably label the crystals as amethyst.

On the provided display stand, this geode section measures 8.1" tall.

About Uruguay Amethyst

Though Brazil produces a greater volume of amethyst, the material from the Artigas region of Uruguay is renowned for its exceptional depth of color and superb crystal quality. Uruguayan amethyst typically forms in dense basalt flows and develops into richly saturated, grape-purple crystals that are considered some of the finest in the world. Because we import our specimens directly from the mines, we’re able to offer outstanding prices on everything from dramatic geodes to premium clusters and collector-grade crystal formations.
