.8" Translucent Golden-Green Heliodor Crystal - Brazil

This is a .8" long beryl (var. heliodor) crystal with beautiful golden-green coloration, collected from Córrego Vermelho, near Minas Gerais, Brazil. The state is known for its rich mineral deposits, especially pegmatites containing beryl. This specimen displays excellent clarity and faceting with hints of heliodor's signature green color.

This specimen has been mounted to an acrylic display base with mineral tack.

Also known as golden beryl, this variety of beryl can be yellow, light green, orange, and even brown. However, the name golden beryl is typically only associated with heliodor crystals that display a golden-yellow color. This golden color is attributed to iron(III) cations within the crystal lattice.
