9.1" Sparkling Green Prasiolite Quartz Formation on Metal Stand
This is a gorgeous druzy quartz geode section from the famous amethyst mines near Artigas, Uruguay. In addition to the beautiful druzy formations, this specimen features a dreamy light green color that really sets this piece apart. Part of the "rind" has been polished to reveal the underlying peach-colored, fibrous mineral aggregations encrusting the basalt matrix.
The included custom metal display stand makes for a very aesthetic display.

About Uruguay Amethyst and Prasiolite
Though Brazil produces a greater volume of amethyst and quartz, the material from the Artigas region of Uruguay is renowned for its exceptional depth of color and superb crystal quality. Not only does Uruguay produce amethyst, but it also produces spectacular green quartz (prasiolite) as a result of the amethyst-bearing rocks being heated by nearby lava flows or intrusions. Uruguayan amethyst and prasiolite geodes form in these dense basalt flows, with the richly saturated, grape-purple crystals being considered some of the finest in the world. Because we import our specimens directly from the mines, we’re able to offer outstanding prices on everything from dramatic geodes to premium clusters and collector-grade crystal formations.
