This is an alluring .96" wide lustrous yellow fluorite crystal cluster, collected from the Moscona Mine in Asturias, Spain. The crystals fluoresce a bright yellow-orange under UV light.

About the Moscona Mine
The Moscona Mine, located near El Pontón de Solís in Corvera de Asturias, northern Spain, is one of the country’s best-known fluorite localities and forms part of the important Villabona-Arlós mining district. Mining at Moscona began in 1968, with fluorite occurring largely as cavity fillings within brecciated rocks. These open spaces allowed crystals to develop freely along pocket walls, producing attractive druzes and clusters that have made the mine particularly notable among mineral collectors.
Moscona is especially famous for its distinctive honey-yellow to golden-yellow fluorite, which typically forms sharp, lustrous cubic crystals. Many crystals are transparent to translucent and commonly measure under 2 cm, although plenty of larger examples are known. Calcite, dolomite, and barite frequently occur alongside the fluorite, sometimes forming striking white crystals over the yellow cubes, while pyrite, marcasite, and other sulfides may also be present. Some specimens display geometric growth zoning or inclusions, and Moscona fluorite can exhibit pronounced fluorescence and phosphorescence under ultraviolet light. Although yellow is overwhelmingly characteristic of the locality, much rarer violet and color-zoned fluorite specimens have also been recovered.
