Worry stones are smooth, polished stones, usually in the shape of an oval, with a thumb-sized indentation. They are often used by people for relaxation or anxiety relief purposes, the same way as some people use a fidget spinner. Typically, worry stones are 1 1/2 to 2 inches across. They may also be referred to as palm stones, thumb stones, fidget stones, etc.

Howlite is a white, grey, and brown calcium-based mineral formed by evaporation. It occurs when calcium, boron, and silicon are readily available in an aqueous solution that begins to evaporate. As this solution dries up, the minerals come together to form crystals, somewhat similar to the formation of halite. It typically forms in botryoidal masses that resemble cauliflower heads or nodules. Small, individual translucent crystals of howlite have been encountered, but this type of formation is quite rare.
