1.45" Wide, Thaleops Trilobite - Wisconsin
This is a rarely seen trilobite from the Platteville Formation of Wisconsin. It is a nice Thaleops ovata measuring 1.45" wide and .95" long. It's very inflated and both cheeks are in place (rare). There is some significant shell restoration on the left hand side of the thorax where the shell was weathered.
The Platteville Formation is rarely collected and complete trilobites are very tough to find. Our digging partner who has a leased quarry on this formation has only found a handful of nice trilobites in the past two years for the locality.
