1.9" Austerops Trilobite With Gerastos - Ofaten, Morocco
This is a 1.9" long Austerops trilobite from Ofaten, Morocco. Good eye facet preservation can be seen in both eyes. There is a smaller Gerastos trilobite naturally associated with it. Total restoration on this piece is about 1%.
About Trilobites
Trilobites were a very diverse group of extinct marine arthropods. They first appeared in the fossil record in the Early Cambrian (521 million years ago) and went extinct during the Permian mass extinction (250 million years ago).
