This is a fossil fern (Odontopteris subcrenulata) from the Late Carboniferous-aged Montceau-les-Mines Lagerstatte of France. This formation is Stephanian Stage in age, or approximately 300 million years old. The fern measures 5.1" long and is nicely centered on a 5.3 x 4.15" slab of rock.
