2.3" Early Cambrian Fallotaspis With Pos/Neg - Taroudant, Morocco
This is a 2.3" long Fallotaspis from the Taroudant area of Morocco. I was able to acquire three specimens of these very rare trilobites when I was in Morocco this past fall, and this is the "bargain specimen" out of the trio. The Fallotaspis from Morocco are very poorly described and the ones that have been described were described off of parts so assigning them to a specific species is difficult.
This species is distinctly different from the Fallotaspis we have offered from Tazemmourt.. The spines are straight, not curved, it has a much smaller occipital spine, axial spines on all of the segments, etc.
Both the positive and negative split of the trilobite is included.
