2.5" Top Quality Spiny Comura Trilobite With Austerops - Morocco
This is an exceptional association of a spiny, Comura bultyncki trilobite along with an Austerops from the Tazoulait Formation at Ofaten, Morocco. The preparation is amazing on this piece, and the Comura has around 40 free standing spines. There is aobut 3% shell restoration on the Auserops but none on the Comura.
Good Comura's have become very hard to get lately as no one is actively digging this locality.

About Trilobites
Trilobites were a very diverse group of extinct marine arthropods. They first appeared in the fossil record in the Early Cambrian (521 million years ago) and went extinct during the Permian mass extinction (250 million years ago). They were one of the most successful of the early animals on our planet: over 25,000 species have been described, filling nearly every evolutionary niche. Due in large part to their hard exoskeletons (shells), they left an excellent fossil record.
