2.7" Rare Treveropyge Berbera Trilobite - Exceptional Specimen
This is a rare, 2.7" long Treveropyge berbera trilobite from Bou Lachrhal, Morocco. This specimen was in my personal collection, but I decided to part with it to make room for new material. It has dark black shell reservation and a healed injury on the right hand hand side. Excellent eye facet detail. There is about 2-3% shell restoration, all on the right cheek.
This species is quite rare, in fact I think we've only had one other example of it for sale.

Trilobites were a very diverse group of extinct marine arthropods. They first appeared in the fossil record in the Early Cambrian (521 million years ago) and went extinct during the Permian mass extinction (250 million years ago). They were one of the most successful of the early animals on our planet: over 25,000 species have been described, filling nearly every evolutionary niche. Due in large part to their hard exoskeletons (shells), they left an excellent fossil record.
