3.1" Leaf and Beetle Fossil- Green River Formation, Utah

This is a 5.7" long, Sumac Leaf (Rhus nigricaans) and Rove Beetle (Staphylinides) fossil, from the Green River Formation, Uintah County, Utah. The leaf is 3.1" long and beetle is .67".

While this formation is best known for well preserved fossil fish found in Wyoming, other sections of the formation contain a very diverse insect fauna.
