3.2" Insane Dicranurus Trilobite - Large Specimen!
This bizarre trilobite looks like something you might see in an Aliens movie. It's fittingly named Dicranurus monstrosus. While fakes of this trilobite abound, real examples like this one are fairly rare, and ones of this size and quality don't come around very often.
This is a gorgeous and very large example of the species at 3.2" wide. Less than 1% restoration along a Y-shaped repaired crack.

About Trilobites
Trilobites were a very diverse group of extinct marine arthropods. They first appeared in the fossil record in the Early Cambrian (521 million years ago) and went extinct during the Permian mass extinction (250 million years ago).
