3.5" Beautiful Phacops Trilobite - Mrakib, Morocco

This is a large, and beautifully preserved Phacopid trilobite from Mrakib, Morocco. The large phacopid trilobites from this location have outstanding preservation very reminiscent of the Eldredgeops from the Silica Shale in Ohio. They also get big, this one would be about 3 1/2 inches in length if fully outstretched. These phacopids are a relatively new find, and I haven't seen them offered by many other dealers.

The compound eyes in this specimen show amazing detail and all of the pustules on the head are well preserved. Just a small amount of restoration on the tail where the repaired crack runs through it. Really a beautiful bug.
