3.8" Carboniferous Fossil Fern (Pseudomariopteris) - France

This is a fossil fern (Pseudomariopteris sp.) from the Late Carboniferous-aged Montceau-les-Mines Lagerstatte of France. This formation is Stephanian Stage in age, or approximately 300 million years old. The fern measures 3.8" long and is nicely centered on a 4 x 3" slab of rock.
