3.9" Jurassic Club Urchin (Asterocidaris) - Boulemane, Morocco
This is a 3.9" wide, Middle Jurassic club urchin (Asterocidaris bistriata) fossil from Boulemane, Morocco. All of the spines have been prepared individually from the limestone it was found in and mounted to the test (urchin "body") and rock. These urchins with spines are always composites because the spines break off from the test very quickly after they die. It's a very aesthetically pleasing and impressive fossil.
It comes with an acrylic display stand.
