3" Detailed Fossil March Fly (Plecia) Plate - Wyoming

This is a 3" wide multiple plate of the fossil "March Fly", Plecia pealei, collected from the Eocene-aged Green River Formation in Wyoming. The flies show quite a bit of detail under magnification. While the Green River Formation is best know for its fish fossils, other areas produce incredible plant fossils and insect fauna.

It comes with an acrylic display stand.
