4.2" Fossil Leaf (Cedrelospermum & Leguminosites) Plate - Utah

This is a 4.2" wide slab of shale containing two fossil leaves, each on opposite sides of the rock. The largest (2.1" long including stem) is a leaf of the species Cedrelospermum nervosum; a species of plant classified within the Ulmaceae family, which includes modern trees like elm and hackberry. The smaller leaf on the back side of the rock is of the species Leguminosites lesquereuxiana, a type of legume. This specimen was collected from the Green River Formation in Utah.

Comes with an acrylic display stand.

While the Green River Formation is best known for its fish fossils from Wyoming, other areas produce incredible plant fossils.
