6.7" Carboniferous Fossil Fern (Odontopteris) - France
This is a fossil fern (Odontopteris subcrenulata) from the Late Carboniferous-aged Montceau-les-Mines Lagerstatte of France. This formation is Stephanian Stage in age, or approximately 300 million years old. The fern measures 6.7" long and is nicely centered on a rectangular-cut, 6.6 x 3.9" slab of rock.
Comes with an acrylic display stand. A section of fossil covered rock has been epoxied to the back to assist with stability.
