4.65" Pennsylvanian Fossil Fern Plate - West Virginia
This is a 4.65" section of rock containing fern (Eusphenopteris sp. and Pecopteris sp.) fossils, collected from Coal Country, West Virginia. Pecopteris and Eusphenopteris are extinct genera of seed ferns that flourished during the Carboniferous period, and can be found throughout many of the Late Carboniferous, Pennsylvanian-aged deposits of Eastern North America.
