6.4" Acadoparadoxides Trilobite - Tinjdad, Morocco
This is a elegant, orange, 6.4" long Acadoparadoxides trilobite. There are several species of Acadoparadoxides from this formation and I'm not 100% confident on which one of them this is. It has a natural, orange coloration due to the oxidization of iron pyrite.
Unlike many examples of these trilobites this one has very little restoration. There just appear to be some touchups to some of the spine tips and around the fringe of the head.

Trilobites were a very diverse group of extinct marine arthropods. They first appeared in the fossil record in the Early Cambrian (521 million years ago) and went extinct during the Permian mass extinction (250 million years ago). They were one of the most successful of the early animals on our planet: over 25,000 species have been described, filling nearly every evolutionary niche. Due in large part to their hard exoskeletons (shells), they left an excellent fossil record.
