7.1" Shale With Fossil Dragonfly (Odonata) Larvae - France

This is a cluster of fossil dragonfly larvae (order Odonata), collected from an Oligocene-aged (Stampien/Rupelian) shale deposit at Mine de Gaude in Southern France. The larvae have been covered by a thin sealant to highlight their detail.

This is part of an old collection that we recently acquired. The collection includes a variety of insect fossils from around Southern France, collected over a span of 50 years by a woman with PhDs in paleontology and pharmacology.

It comes with an acrylic display stand.
