Detailed Fossil Robber Fly and Ants - Green River Formation

This is a beautifully detailed fossil fly commonly know as a robber fly (family Asilidae) preserved alongside a small fly (order Diptera) and two ants (family Formicidae), collected from the Green River Formation is Utah. Including its wings and antennae, the fly measures .3" long. While this formation is best known for well preserved fossil fish found in Wyoming, other sections of the formation contain a very diverse flora and insect fauna.

It comes with an acrylic display stand.
