Eocene Fossil Cricket and Crane Fly - Green River Formation
This is a .4" long cricket (order Orthoptera) fossil preserved alongside a crane fly (order Diptera - family tipulidae) fossil, collected from the Green River Formation of Utah. While this formation is best known for well-preserved fossil fish found in Wyoming, other sections of the formation contain a very diverse insect fauna.
