Fossil Insect Cluster (Ant, Flies, Bee) - Green River Formation, Utah

This is a fossil Insect cluster from the Green River Formation, Uintah County, Utah. This specimen contains approximately 8 insects. Most are Flies (Diptera), one is a Bee (Hymenoptera) and one is an ant (Formicidae). The bee is likely a Bumblebee of the genus Bombus.

While this formation is best known for well preserved fossil fish found in Wyoming, other sections of the formation contain a very diverse insect fauna.
