Fossil Leaf Plate - Green River Formation, Utah

This is a plate of two well-preserved fossil leaves. The larger is of the species Oreopanax elongatum (4.9"), a genus with living members in Central and South America, along with a Menispermites limacioides leaf and other unidentified leaf fragments. They are sourced from the Green River Formation of Uintah County, Utah.

While this formation is best known for well-preserved fossil fish found in Wyoming, other sections of the formation contain very diverse flora and insect fauna.

Comes with an acrylic stand.
