Fossil Leaf with Crane Flies - Green River Formation, Utah

This is a fossil mimosite (Mimosites coloradensis) leaf measuring .6" long, located alongside a small cluster of crane flies (family Tipulidae) fossil, collected from the Green River Formation of Utah. The plate itself measures 3.2 x 2.95".

While the Green River Formation is best know for its fish fossils, other areas produce incredible plant and insect fossils.

Comes with an acrylic display stand.
