Fossil Maple Tree And Aleurites Seed Pod- Green River Formation, Utah

This is a well preserved 2.7" maple leafe (Acer) and a Aleurites fruit, from the Green River Formation, Uintah County, Utah. Aleurites is a genus of trees most commonly know as Candlenuts.

While this formation is best known for well preserved fossil fish found in Wyoming, other sections of the formation contain a very diverse insect fauna.

Comes with an acrylic stand.
