Hollardops Trilobite Fossil With Austerops - Multi-Toned Shell
This is an exceptionally beautiful association of two exquisitely preserved trilobites from near Ofaten, Morocco. The centerpiece is a 2.2" long Hollardops, naturally associated with a slightly smaller Austerops. Both specimens exhibit stunning, natural multi-toned shell coloration, with rich, contrasting hues that accentuate their intricate anatomy and remarkable preservation.
The preparation is truly masterful, with much of the surrounding limestone painstakingly removed to create an elegant, three-dimensional display of extraordinary aesthetic appeal. The harmonious positioning of the two trilobites, combined with their gorgeous coloration and exceptional detail, makes this a particularly striking collector-grade piece. Total restoration is less than 1%.

About Trilobites
Trilobites were a very diverse group of extinct marine arthropods. They first appeared in the fossil record in the Early Cambrian (521 million years ago) and went extinct during the Permian mass extinction (250 million years ago). They were one of the most successful of the early animals on our planet: over 25,000 species have been described, filling nearly every evolutionary niche. Due in large part to their hard exoskeletons (shells), they left an excellent fossil record.
