Two Detailed Reedops Trilobite - Atchana, Morocco

This is a pair of dark chocolate brown Reedops trilobite collected near Atchana, Morocco. They have a lot of surface detail including visible preserved eye facets in their eyes. They have been prepared to remove the surrounding limestone so they look like they're ready to crawl off the rock. If outstretched, these trilobites would measure approximately 2.6" long and 2.2" long.

It comes with an acrylic display stand.

There is roughly 2-3% restoration to each trilobite.

Trilobites were a very diverse group of extinct marine arthropods. They first appeared in the fossil record in the Early Cambrian (521 million years ago) and went extinct during the Permian mass extinction (250 million years ago). They were one of the most successful of the early animals on our planet: over 25,000 species have been described, filling nearly every evolutionary niche. Due in large part to their hard exoskeletons (shells), they left an excellent fossil record.
