POLISHED UNAKITE

Unakite is a distinctive metamorphic rock composed of pink orthoclase feldspar, green epidote, and clear to milky quartz, creating a unique mottled pattern of earthy greens and salmon-pink tones. First discovered in the Unakas Mountains of North Carolina, this colorful stone forms through the alteration of granite and is now found in several regions worldwide, including Virginia, South Africa, and Brazil. It takes an excellent polish and is prized by lapidary artists for cabochons, carvings, and decorative pieces, with its harmonious blend of colors reflecting both natural beauty and the powerful geological processes that shaped it.
