5" Large "Selenite" (Satin Spar) Spheres - With LED Light Stand

These are large, 5" wide (most about 5.2" in diameter) polished selenite spheres. Each one comes with a plug in wooden LED light base, allowing the sphere to light up. Quantity discounts are available.

Selenite is a variety of gypsum, a soft sulfate mineral composed of calcium sulfate dihydrate (CaSO4 · H2O). When chemically pure, gypsum is transparent and colorless, but impurities give the gypsum a diverse range of colors and formations. Desert rose selenite and satin spar are just a few of the varieties of gypsum known to have formed though hydrothermal processes.

Note: Satin spar from Morocco is often marketed as selenite, and while it is a variety of gypsum, the name selenite is not accurate in this instance. For the sake of the market, we use both selenite and satin spar to describe these mineral specimens.
