2.2" Fossil Cedrelospermum Leaf with Snout Beetle - Utah

This is a fossil leaf of Cedrelospermum nervosum, an extinct species of plant classified within the Ulmaceae family, which includes modern trees like elm and hackberry, collected from the Green River Formation of Utah. It measures 2.2" long and is located alongside a beautifully detailed snout beetle (weevil - family Curculionidae) fossil with a raised elytron. The plate itself measures 3.8 x 2.8".

While the Green River Formation is best know for its fish fossils, other areas produce incredible plant and insect fossils.

Comes with an acrylic stand.
