This is a fossil mimosite (Mimosites coloradensis) leaf from the Green River Formation of Utah. It measures .6" long and is located alongside a beautifully detailed rove beetle (order Coleoptera - family Staphylinidae) fossil measuring .7" long. The plate itself measures 3.55 x 2.4".
While the Green River Formation is best know for its fish fossils, other areas produce incredible plant and insect fossils.
