23" Plate Of Fossil Crinoids & Sea Urchins - Gilmore City, Iowa

This is a spectacular, 23.2" wide section of limestone covered in Mississippian aged fossil crinoids and spiny echinoids (sea urchins) from Gilmore City, Iowa. There are around ten crinoids on the plate and most appear to be of the genus Cactocrinus but there is at lease one other type present. There are also several echinoids of the genus Archaeocidaris as well as what appears to be a partial starfish at the edge of the piece. They are all on one solid piece of limestone which is about 1 1/2" thick.
