3.5" Zlichovaspis Trilobite With Crotalocephalina & Reedops

This is an exceptionally beautiful, natural association of trilobites representing three different genera from the Devonian Lhandar Formation of Morocco. Preserved together on an 8.7" x 6.4" limestone matrix are an impressive 3.5" long Zlichovaspis rugosa, a pair of Crotalocephalina gibbus, and a smaller Reedops.

The extraordinary preparation has meticulously freed these delicate fossils from the surrounding limestone, revealing their intricate anatomical details in dramatic, three-dimensional relief. Each trilobite remains beautifully positioned within the natural association, creating an elegant, lifelike composition with exceptional visual appeal.

With absolutely no restoration, this remarkable multi-species association is a truly outstanding display specimen. It comes with a removable wooden display base that beautifully complements the fossils and enhances its presentation.

About Trilobites

Trilobites were a very diverse group of extinct marine arthropods. They first appeared in the fossil record in the Early Cambrian (521 million years ago) and went extinct during the Permian mass extinction (250 million years ago). They were one of the most successful of the early animals on our planet: over 25,000 species have been described, filling nearly every evolutionary niche. Due in large part to their hard exoskeletons (shells), they left an excellent fossil record.
