5" Fossil Candlenut Leaf (Aleurites) - Insect Predation!
This is a well preserved 5" fossil candlenut leaf (Aleurites glandulosa) with signs of insect predation, collected from the Green River Formation, Uintah County, Utah. While this formation is best known for well-preserved fossil fish found in Wyoming, other sections of the formation contain very diverse flora and insect fauna.
