6.4" Carboniferous Fossil Fern (Lescurofiteris) - France
This is a gorgeous fossil fern (Lescurofiteris genvina) from the Late Carboniferous-aged Montceau-les-Mines Lagerstatte of France. This formation is Stephanian Stage in age, or approximately 300 million years old. The fern measures 6.4" long and is nicely centered on a rectangular-cut, 6.45 x 4.7" thick slab of rock.
There are a couple repaired cracks through the rock with areas where the fossil chipped away along the repairs.
Comes with an acrylic display stand.
