6.5" Fossil Leaf and Horsetail Plate - Green River Formation, Utah

This is a 6.5" wide fossil leaf and horsetail plate from the Green River Formation of Utah. It features a beautiful 2.2" long coffeetree (Gymnocladus hesperia) leaf preserved alongside a monocot fossil, a Cedrelospermum nervosum (a species of plant classified within the Ulmaceae family) leaf, a leaf of the species Prunus stewarti, sumac leaf of the species Rhus nigricans, and a horsetail (Equisetum winchesteri) stem.

While the Green River Formation is best known for its fish fossils from Wyoming, other areas produce incredible plant fossils.

Comes with an acrylic stand.
