.8" Fossil Legume (Leguminosites) & Fly - Green River Formation, Utah

This is an Eocene aged fossil leaf from Leguminosites lesquereuxiana, a type of legume. The leaf is .8" long and on a piece of shale. It is nicely preserved with crisp edges and a nice dark color. Fine details are faint, but can be seen. A fly (order Diptera) can be seen right next to the middle of the leaf.

It comes from the Green River Formation in Uintah County, Utah. While this formation is best known for well-preserved fossil fish found in Wyoming, other sections of the formation contain very diverse flora and insect fauna.

Comes with an acrylic display stand.
