2.6" Fossil Insect (Crane Flies, Crickets, & Beetle) Plate - Utah

This is a fascinating 2.6" wide piece of shale featuring a cluster of crane flies (order Diptera - family Tipulidae) and crickets (order Orthoptera), along with a beetle (order Coleoptera) fossil. The beetle measures .2" long. The specimen was collected from the Green River Formation of Utah. While the Green River Formation is best know for its fish fossils, other areas produce incredible fossil plant and insect fauna.
