2.8" Leguminosites Fossil Leaf - Green River Formation

This is a beautifully detailed fossil Legume leaf from the Green River Formation of Utah. This oval-shaped leaf is characterized by entire margins and an emarginate apex. These features are clearly defined on this specimen. It contrasts well against the light tan block of matrix. There are a few wholes in the leaf which are most likely from insects munching on it.

These plants come from a different area than the quarries so famous for wonderfully preserved fish fossils.
