Fossil Leather Fern Leaf - Green River Formation

This is a large fossil leaf of Acrostichum, a rare type of leather fern from the Green River Formation of Wyoming. It has great detail and is located on a 4x3 inch block of shale. These plants come from a different area than the quarries so famous for wonderfully preserved fish fossils.
