Impressive Crotalocephalina Trilobite Fossil With Zlichovaspis
This is an impressive, natural association of a stunningly prepared Crotalocephalina gibbus trilobite along with a Zlichovaspis rugosa. It was quarried near Atchana, Morocco and the preparation is amazing. Both trilobites have been prepared to remove nearly all of the surrounding limestone. There is less than 1% restoration on this piece along repaired cracks.
The Crotalocephalina would measure about 3" if outstretched and the Zlichovaspis about 2.5"

About Trilobites
Trilobites were a very diverse group of extinct marine arthropods. They first appeared in the fossil record in the Early Cambrian (521 million years ago) and went extinct during the Permian mass extinction (250 million years ago). They were one of the most successful of the early animals on our planet: over 25,000 species have been described, filling nearly every evolutionary niche. Due in large part to their hard exoskeletons (shells), they left an excellent fossil record.
