About Blue Tiger's Eye

Blue Tiger’s Eye, also known as Hawk’s Eye or Falcon’s Eye, is a stunning variety of Tiger’s Eye known for its silky luster and deep, shimmering blue tones. This stone forms when crocidolite (blue asbestos) fibers are replaced by quartz through a process called pseudomorphism, while still retaining the fibrous structure that gives it a characteristic chatoyant “cat’s-eye” effect. The result is a captivating play of light that moves across the surface as the stone is turned.

Found primarily in South Africa and Western Australia, Blue Tiger’s Eye displays a range of colors from deep navy to steel blue, often with streaks of gray, gold, or green. When polished, it exhibits a glassy sheen and a shifting band of light that gives it remarkable depth and movement. Valued by collectors and lapidary artists alike, Blue Tiger’s Eye is often cut into cabochons, beads, or tumbled stones—each piece reflecting a tranquil, almost hypnotic beauty reminiscent of stormy skies or the wings of a hawk in flight.

Worry stones are smooth, polished stones, usually in the shape of an oval, with a thumb-sized indentation. They are often used by people for relaxation or anxiety relief purposes, the same way as some people use a fidget spinner. Typically, worry stones are 1 1/2 to 2 inches across. They may also be referred to as palm stones, thumb stones, fidget stones, etc.
