3.2" Fossil Insect (Flies, Beetles, etc) Plate - Utah

This is a 3.2" wide piece of shale featuring a beautifully detailed crane fly (family Tipulidae) with wings, but missing a portion of its abdomen, some flies of the order Diptera, and a beetle or two of the Order Coleoptera, in addition to a few unidentified insects. The specimen was collected from the Green River Formation of Utah. While the Green River Formation is best know for its fish fossils, other areas produce incredible plant fossils and insect fauna.

It comes with an acrylic display stand.
